Some work from Pixar's Cars 2

Hope everyone is having a good holiday season!  I know I'm enjoying the abundant chocolates and delicious eggnog :)

In 2009, I was an intern at Pixar and had the opportunity to work on Cars 2.  The team was fantastic and I learned a great deal from so many artists.  Here are a couple concept paintings of the Tokyo bathroom scene.

Layout done by the amazing Nat McLaughlin

Have a great week!

That is just so cool! You said 2009... They have been working on the animation that long? I didn't realize it took so long to do a cartoon. Is that pretty standard?

No wonder I liked that part so much ... I really like the contrast between the two pieces - very well-thought. Can't wait to see the impact you have on the next Blue Sky titles!

Thank you for the kind words everybody! I really appreciate it!

Tam Tam-Thank you very much! I will have some new concepts up soon. I hope you like them. Thanks for keeping up with my work and always leaving such thoughtful comments.

UtahHomestoGo-Hey! Yeah, usually films take about 4-6 years to complete. Cars 2 had many assets that could be re-used from the first film but because of the extensive traveling in the story, it required lots of new designs.

Jeffrey-Thank you! You are very welcome. It is a beautiful piece
