Prismacolor doodles
Just posting some thumbnail doodles. Been playing around with prismacolor pencils now and then. I don't think I've used them since high school which is really sad knowing how much I loved them back then. I guess you could call this our reunion...something like that. The thing I like about them is their tooth. They leave a nice texture without the mess and it feels nice. I like using the colorase for a smoke-in and go back into it with a black or burnt umber wax based prismacolor. There is something nice about the way they work together. Heck, colorase is pretty great with anything.

Love them! I'm sure they could connect to make quite an interesting story. I'm especially loving the sense of depth in every one.
I agree, the depth is amazing in these. And the one on the bottom right, amazing perspective. I love all of these!
Awesome sketches and angles!
Great perspective...Bravo!
Niiiice, Ty! I'm also fond of the bottom right thumbnail.
These are really nice Ty. Fantastic thumbnail comps.
Thank you!!!
Great blog you got here, Ty!
That's so funny. I was totally in love with my 72 set of Prismacolor in high school, too, and I've been thinking about them lately. (It was a couple decades ago, yikes!) I thought they were oil-based but maybe the ones I'm thinking of are wax-based. Very smooth and blend-able.)
Super sketches but my favorites are the ones with those sharp buildings. That cool funky house in the top left and the street scene in the middle on the right. Great lines and style!
Cool doodles!
